Spring is here and on the 6th April Jenni Axtell visited Y4 and the choir to help us perform some of the songs we have been learning this term. The songs were fast and furious with two that had a Spanish feel, a medley of showtunes and finishing with Revolting Children from Matilda.

Each class and the choir performed there own favourite, Miss Robinson's class chose a song from The Lion King, Mr Wilson's chose Yellow submarine and the choir chose a signed song, You're the Voice. All the children enjoyed the chance to perform and it was lovely to see them enjoying singing.

Thankyou to all involved and especially the Sing Spring In team!

In January the choir set off on their journey to Birmingham Genting Arena. We were all very excited and full of anticipation. The coach driver was lucky enough to be given a preview of the concert songs and a few others as we travelled.

The afternoon was spent perfecting our dance moves and making sure we were all confident about which part we were singing. The children were as always superbly behaved and other schools commented to me on their behaviour and enthusiastic approach.

Finally the time came for the concert, T shirts were changed, parents arrived and took their seats, and then it began! Such energy and musicality! The sound from such a large choir is stunning and I can only say that should you have a chance to go to Young Voices please do, it's such a great experience for the children and fantastic to see them enjoying live music so much. As we all know seeing professional performers live is a completely different experience.

Sadly the evening had to come to an end and a still bubbly (where do they get the energy?) choir made their way back to the coach some to sleep and some to chat about the days experiences.

I've already registered for Young Voices 2018 and hope that more children will be able to have an experience of a lifetime.
